This January recruitment period is always a time of feverish speculation and potential major moves. A number of prominent players find themselves connected to transfers out of their present teams. We examine some of the key names who could be changing clubs in January.

Antoine Semenyo

Although the Black Stars' failure to reach the AFCON, which has kept the forward in contention, reports suggest a significant move is close. The Bournemouth attacker has a contract featuring a substantial buy-out clause active for a two-week window in early January. Latest developments point to the Premier League champions are now the frontrunners for his services. Other suitors like Chelsea and Tottenham reportedly have moved on to other options, potentially opening the door for teams like Manchester United or Liverpool to make a late move.

Marc Guéhi

The English defender has continued to impress for Crystal Palace despite a previous transfer to Anfield falling through. With his deal set to expire in the summer, this represents the club's last opportunity to secure a transfer fee for their skipper. Numerous elite clubs, including City and several continental powerhouses like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, reportedly be interested. Yet, a winter departure is considered difficult, particularly given the coach's dependence on the player.

B. Johnson

This Wales winger has had first-team minutes hard to come by at Tottenham this term. Although finishing as the club's leading goalscorer last season, he has started just a handful of Premier League matches. Reports suggest the North London club would be open to a transfer for the correct price, believed to be in the around £40 million. Bournemouth appear to be at the front of the queue, with Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and Brentford additionally showing an inquiry.

R. Neves

The Portuguese midfielder could be poised for a comeback to the English top flight after a spell in the Saudi Pro League. Ivan Toney

The proven England striker has kept finding the net regularly in Saudi Arabia. Coming back to the Premier League could boost his fading hopes of making the England squad. But, arranging a deal presents significant hurdles. His current club are reluctant to sell him, and his alleged huge weekly wages make any agreement complicated. Tottenham, Manchester United, and Everton are all mentioned as admirers.

Conor Gallagher

The dynamic midfielder attracted widespread interest in the summer but stayed at Atlético. With limited starts in Spain this season, he may be keen to secure more minutes ahead of the World Cup. Harvey Elliott

Although excelling and winning player of the tournament at the U21 Euros last summer, the talented midfielder has struggled for game time on loan at Aston Villa. Unai Emery has confirmed the loan move will not be made permanent. Due to FIFA regulations regarding playing for two clubs in a season, a return to his parent club prior to next season seems to be the sole viable solution.

Kenan Yildiz

This exciting Turkey attacker has been in excellent form for Juventus this season. As his existing contract running down, a host of English sides – such as Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool – are keeping tabs on the developments. Juventus are desperate to tie down the youngster to a new long-term agreement but are in a race to keep one of Europe's most promising prospects.

K. Smit

This much-admired Netherlands teenage midfielder has earned comparisons to a Belgian superstar for his playing style. Following starring at the Under-19 European Championship, he has broken into the AZ side. This teenager is heavily tipped to make a big-money move this month. Newcastle United reportedly are leading the chase, but are facing stiff competition from Real Madrid for a deal priced at approximately twenty-two million pounds.
